I'm working on submitting a paper to a scholarly publication. I'm not sure how to cite my sources for this and what style to use.

Answer

Publishers will usually communicate a particular output style for submitted manuscripts. You can check the publisher's author submission page where there will generally be information about what citation style they require.

You might also benefit from using EndNote - a citation manager can help you with formatting in a large number of citation styles.

Please refer to this page for more information about how to download and use EndNote
