Do we have access to the AAMC Faculty Salary Report?

The annual AAMC Faculty Salary Report displays total compensation of full-time medical school faculty broken out by rank, degree, department/specialty, medical school type, region, gender and, beginning with the FY 2021 data, race/ethnicity. The online report is available for purchase through the AAMC Store with discounted member pricing.

Answer

As the academic medicine community transitions to an increasingly digital environment, the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) is providing the Faculty Salary Report only in online format, beginning with the FY 2022 report. The online version of this product offers significant benefits, including:

  • Three years of compensation data
  • Access data from any device with internet access
  • View, download, and print each table
  • Detailed data breakouts (such as compensation by gender and race/ethnicity)

The cost for the current online version is $1,150 for non-members, but because the AAMC membership is tied to the institution (not an individual), faculty and staff at member institutions – along with medical residents and fellows – may purchase online access for $60. UT Southwestern is a member of AAMC; therefore, UT Southwestern users are eligible for the member pricing.

Individuals should create a personal account in the AAMC Store, and if they use their UTSW email address, they should automatically be linked with member pricing. If an alternate email address is used or if the member pricing does not appear, they should contact the AAMC Store for more information or to confirm eligibility. Representatives typically respond within one business day.

Note: Medical students may access portions of the Faculty Salary data at no charge through the related AAMC service called Careers in Medicine. More information can be found at this website.
